Det er med stor glede at vi kan invitere til den tredje separat-utstillingen av & med grafiker Erling Valtyrson.

​Teknikken mezzotint har blitt Erling Valtyrson sitt varemerke, hvilke han høster stor internasjonal anerkjennelse for.  

Mezzotint er en 300 år gammel teknikk innen dyptrykk.                                       

Den gir spesielt gode muligheter for dybde i nyanser og graderinger som får frem bløte overganger i lys og skygge. Han arbeider innenfor en rik motiv verden, med blant annet stilleben, 

landskap og portretter.         

Valtyrson har i hovedsak to motivtyper: Studier eller Forestillinger. 

De kan være naturalistiske eller surrealistiske.

Erling Valtyrson har hatt en rekke utstillinger over hele verden: 

Blant annet på Arsène Bonafous-Murat, samt utstilt i  Nasjonalbiblioteket i Paris, og tatt opp som medlem i Société des Peintres-Graveurs Francais, i samme landet. 

Han har vist sine arbeider Olimpa Theodoli i New York, og Artgraph i Nagoya, Osaka, 

og Kobe i Japan, i tillegg en rekke juryerte utstillinger og priser i Korea og Japan.

Valtyrson mottok, i 2017, 1. Pris i Russland for ” Prize for adhering to the traditions and skills of graphical work “. Der til er han oppkjøpt av Montreal Museum of Fine Art, Canada, og Musee Jenisch, Cabinet des Estampes, Sveits.                                                          

I Norge han et stort og interessert publikum, og er ettertraktet av samlere:  Innkjøp av bl.a Nasjonalgalleriet, Norsk Kulturråd, Museet for Samtidskunst, KODE, og 

av HKH Dronning Sonjas Private Samling. 

 

Kunstkritiker Trond Borgen skrev dette i katalogen til Valtyrson sin siste utstilling i Antwerpen, Belgia 2020. (Utdrag): 

» The soft light lets the motif emerge, only to recede back into darkness.                                                                                                By means of his careful, sensitive approach, Valtyrson combines his own technical
elegance with the power of his motifs in order to create a subtle graphic expression.

There are obvious parallels to the Spanish still-life masters of the 17th century.
In particular, I am thinking of Sánchez Cotan´s still-lifes with fruits and
vegetables against a black background. Like Cotan, Valtyrson creates an
irrational picture of the everyday. His vegetables and simple objects exist in a graphic purity which appears obvious and mysterious at the same time – a paradox. This paradoxical mystery is at the very centre of Valtyrson`s production; it is as if his pictures close in around their own secrets whilst at the same time inviting the spectator to wonder and lose himself in their velvety darkness…
 In one sense they (portraits) make up a type
gallery that may be reminiscent of August Sander`s photographic
documentation of human types and professions in the 1930s..
When strange creatures and strange fruit seem to float in a black void, they seemingly appear from nowhere, out of any rational context – like in a dream. In this sense Valtyrson is a dream-catcher, making our dreams both solid and tactile, and ephemeral and evanescent, at the same time. The absurdity is real enough, as it allows Valtyrson`s motifs to escape from straight storytelling. They show us a world that is uncertain, cryptic and incomprehensible, paradoxically conveyed by a painstaking realism that creates expectations kept at bay by what these pictures hide.

Here lie the enigmas of Valtyrson`s art. The pitch-black silence harbours the
powerful forces of the subconscious…».

Musiker Manar Alhashemi er født og oppvokst i Homs, og utdannet på musikkonservatoriet der. 

Han har flere musikkprosjekter med musikk- og kunst undervisning 

for flyktningbarn i Jordan og Norge, og er selv tidligere flyktning, nå bosatt i Os.

Han har spilt sammen med Knut Reiersrud og Håkon Kornstad på Skjønnhet Utenfra-musikkprosjektet for å skape vennskap mellom norske musikere og musikere med flyktninge bakgrunn. I de siste par årene har Alhashemi også etablert to band:  Habibz og Sharqant,
